The Govett-Brewster Foundation is an inspired, forward-looking, group of people.
Our role is the principal philanthropic partner for New Plymouth’s renowned Govett-Brewster Art Gallery | Len Lye Centre.
We work closely with the Gallery Director and team to support and extend their programmes, increase awareness, impact, local and national participation in the Gallery and Centre.

The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery is owned and primarily funded by New Plymouth District Council. As such, any activity beyond the regular programme requires the Gallery to seek and gain additional financial support. The Govett-Brewster Foundation was established in 2002 to offer a lasting and impactful funding source to enable Gallery projects and acquisitions, and to engage donors in the Gallery’s programmes through unique art events and opportunities.
The Govett-Brewster Foundation is a registered charity under the Charities Act 2005. Any donations made to the Foundation may qualify for a tax rebate. Visit www.ird.govt.nz for more information. Donations are not refundable.

It’s easy to support contemporary art and the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery through the Govett-Brewster Foundation.
